Instagram Makeup vs. Regular Makeup (Inspired by Mixed Makeup video)

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of sponsored posts from Mixed Makeup on my timeline on Facebook. I decided to follow them since the videos are really fun to watch for everyone that likes makeup and skincare. Today, I watched the following video on their Facebook page:

In the video, a makeup artist creates glamorous looks for two girls that are part of Mixed Makeup. The makeup artist puts a lot of makeup on them and tells them that that is usually what it takes to create an "Instagram worthy" look. As per her, that kind of makeup looks are all about exaggerating with "pounds and pounds of makeup". She also says that such a type of makeup looks really great in pictures, but not really so great in real life. She definitely does an incredible job on both girls and they love it, but they also say that their pores must be clogged though. The video is really fun and I recommend it a lot! Makeup has definitely changed with Instagram and, as the makeup artist says, it seems that no one is following the "less is more rule" anymore. Moreover, the fact that looks are deceiving on Social Media is mentioned; everyone can use FaceTune even if they don't know how to use Photoshop!
I got inspired by this video and created two looks on my face. One with a lot of makeup and one with really light makeup, which I would wear for work/school. As you can see, I'm wearing glitter, highlighter, contour, and did my eyebrow on my left side. This kind of look is definitely, for me, either for pictures or events. The right side is really simple in comparison. I still do like both looks, but I would wear each of them for different occasions and places. Of course, at the end of the day, makeup has no rules. That is just what I, personally, would do.
