Day of the Dead Makeup Ideas

 Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I decided to create a "Catrina" makeup look for the Day of the Dead ("Día de Los Muertos"). Actually, my mom also asked me to create one for her. As described by Salt Spell Beauty, "the purpose of Día de Los Muertos is to celebrate and honor friends and family who have passed away; it's a holiday that with roots that go as far back as the Aztec empire" and "sugar skull makeup is a way of celebrating loved ones" that have passed away.

I really enjoyed creating these looks and if you would like to create one, the steps to follow are really similar to these. As you can see, this time I opted for really simple teeth and my mom preferred what I did for the half-skull look, on that same link, referring to the teeth.

This time, I did the whole face. So, first, I painted the whole face with white. Then, did the teeth as mentioned above. For the eyes, I used eyeshadow to fill them out and first outlined them with white eyeliner. Also, I put on rhinestone stickers on the outline of the eyes and to decorate. To come up with the designs, I looked for inspiration on google and tried to create something different. At first, for my look, I tried to draw a rose on my forehead, but I ended up erasing that with a white foundation since I did not like how it turned out. Since I drew it in purple, it made my forehead all purple, haha and I started just drawing white lines. Then, I thought that it looked like a tree so I put on stickers there so they looked like flowers in my mind. I think that that worked, at least in my mind. I drew everything with actual painting brushes and eyeliners. I also used the same Makeup Revolution palette and white foundation that I used for the half-skull makeup look

I hope you liked these makeup looks! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below 😁
